Expediting & Quality Manager

The Engineer – Expediting and Quality is responsible for the expediting of all equipment and for producing, agathering and controlling the quality documents, sorting and filing the documents produced by vendors and/or technical teams in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.

The role is critical in support of project management, technical teams, and procurement.

Main Duties

  1. Documentation
    • Prepare the Quality Control Plan for the components of the projects to meet the project contractual specifications and requirements
    • Review and comments vendors Inspection and Tests plan, welding and fabrication procedure, certifications
    • Collect on time and control all quality documents from vendors and check their compliance with the contract requirements, component specifications and standards requirements according to Quality Control Plan
    • Receive, sort and archive hard copies and electronic copies of all technical drawings, reports and related information in an orderly manner, in line with internal and/or project procedures. Work with precision to ensure that all electronic and hard copy filing is accurate and is easily retrievable
    • Compile all quality document to prepare the Quality Inspection Report for each component
    • Allocate and control the document numbering system for the project work
    • Accurately and timely update information and documents as required
    • Ensure timely collection of Final Dossier including shipping documents
  2. Expediting
    • Ensure timely and complete delivery of all ordered goods and equipment through strong Vendor follow-up
    • Organize and ensure fabrication progress reporting, progress tracking of suppliers
  3. Inspections
    • Organize, coordinate and ensure successful client and third party inspections at SPGDC suppliers workshop
    • Inspect equipment before delivery at vendor’s workshop when necessary
  4. Quality
    • Support the Project Manager, Engineering team and Supply Chain team when dealing with manufacturing quality matters
    • Collect and report Lessons Learned

Required Profile

  • Master, Bachelor or other equivalent education in electro-mechanical field.
  • Proficient knowledge of Quality Documentation, QCP’s and ITP’s, material certificates, test procedures, welding documents (WPS, PQR, WPQ, welding maps), painting and galvanizing procedures, CE certification
  • Familiar with steel structure fabrication, Duct works, Piping works, familiar with design codes and fabrication norms (ASME, ISO and EN)
  • Knowledge of welding techniques for steel and pipe works is an asset
  • Familiar with mechanical equipment (pumps, motors, gearboxes, skids) and E&I equipment is an asset
  • Fluent English;  Other language is an asset
