What Are Finned Tubes Used For?

Finned tubes play a critical role in heat exchangers. By adding fins to the outside of the tube, these components dramatically increase the surface area in contact with air or another cooling medium. This larger contact area boosts heat transfer between the fluid inside the tube and the surrounding air or fluid.

At SPG Dry Cooling, we manufacture advanced finned tubes in several shapes, including round, oval, and flat. Our flat tubes, known as SRC®, represent the latest technology in power plant air cooled condensers. These aluminium-clad carbon steel tubes feature high-efficiency aluminium fins, brazed in place for optimal performance.

SRC® finned tubes offer excellent resistance to corrosion and freezing, making them ideal for extreme environments. We produce them in our own state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities to ensure quality and reliability at every step.
