Sustainability

Our commitment towards sustainability

We are a global leader in dry cooling, helping essential infrastructure become cleaner, smarter, and future-ready while preserving valuable water resources.

At SPG Dry Cooling, sustainability is embedded in over 140 years of proven engineering expertise. We design, engineer, commission, and maintain sustainable dry cooling solutions for customers worldwide.

Our experience enables us to support a wide range of low-carbon and transition energy markets. By allowing energy and industrial facilities to operate without relying on scarce water resources, we play a key role in the global energy transition and the long-term decarbonization of the power, data infrastructure, and industrial sectors.

By reducing exposure to climate-driven water risks, our technologies contribute to the responsible use and protection of water resources. In doing so, we also support pollution prevention and help preserve biodiversity and ecosystems.

Our promises in the energy transition

Reducing the need for vulnerable resources

SPG Dry Cooling contributes to the global energy transition by enabling water-efficient power generation. Our dry cooling technologies significantly reduce water consumption while optimizing plant efficiency, making them essential for modern gas power plants, renewable-integrated grids, and emerging energy applications.

Efficient energy solutions

Our solutions are scalable, modular, and adaptable to evolving energy systems. Combined with decades of engineering expertise and continuous innovation, we support low-carbon and transition technologies such as solar thermal, geothermal, biomass, and combined cycle power plants.

Industrial transformation

Rapid digital transformation is driving strong growth in data centers. Hyperscale facilities require a stable energy supply and reliable, sustainable cooling infrastructure. Our cooling systems are designed to deliver stability, efficiency, and scalability. With innovations such as the Hypercooler, developed specifically for data center applications, we support the cooling demands of next-generation digital infrastructure.

Why dry cooling is a sustainable alternative to traditional water-resilient solutions

The world is facing increasing water stress, with droughts becoming more frequent and impacting both communities and ecosystems.

A conventional 600 MW combined cycle power plant can save up to 2.6 million cubic meters of water annually by using dry cooling as the heat rejection method. This is equivalent to the annual water consumption of approximately 100,000 people.

Our dry cooling systems eliminate the need for cooling water intake, chemical treatment, and thermal discharge. As a result, SPG helps reduce potential impacts on rivers, lakes, groundwater, and marine environments, including risks related to thermal pollution, salinity changes, and the degradation of aquatic ecosystems.

Our commitment goes beyond technology

Manufacturing plants

Sustainability is embedded across our entire organization. All locations and manufacturing facilities actively focus on reducing their environmental impact by implementing

  • Heat recovery and the reuse of brazing furnaces
  • The plant is equipped with a solar water heating system
  • Energy-saving lighting system.

A fair and ethical workplace

For our employees, SPG implements a comprehensive change plan with a strong focus on health and safety, both in the office and on site. Professional development and alignment with our company values are key priorities.

Quality Certification

We are committed to delivering the highest quality to our clients, as demonstrated by our various quality certifications.
