A W-Style® installation Success Story

Efficient Cooling system with a Unique Shape: The W-Style ACC® System

The W-Style ACC® is a dry cooling system that condenses steam directly from the turbine, returning it to the boiler without water loss. It’s a smart choice for power plants in water-limited regions.

Its signature “W”-shaped heat exchanger layout sets it apart. Compared to traditional forced draft systems, this induced draft design reduces structural steel, lowers the overall height, and handles wind better.

Each module uses our proven Single-Row Condenser (SRC®) finned tubes. Steam enters through two large manifolds and flows through a network of primary, secondary, and tertiary tubes. Fans, gearboxes, and motors sit above the heat exchangers, supported by the central W structure to reduce vibration.

One example is a 680 MW combined cycle gas plant in Mexico, where 25 W-Style ACC® modules help lower back pressure, boost output, and improve wind performance.

By combining elements from ModuleAir and Hexacool, the W-Style ACC® offers high performance in a compact design.
